Jabil Gears Up For Q1 Print; Here Are The Recent Forecast Changes From Wall Street's Most Accurate Analysts

Alphabet Inc&#8216;s (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GOOG#NASDAQ">GOOG</a>) (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GOOGL#NASDAQ">GOOGL</a>) autonomous driving unit Waymo said on Monday that it will start testing its robotaxis in Tokyo, Japan, beginning in early 2025.
What Happened: All-electric Jaguar I-PACEs equipped with Waymo&#8217;s autonomous driving technology will arrive in Tokyo in early 2025 and learn to adapt to left-hand traffic and other driving nuances of the city, the company said.
The company has partnered with taxi company Nihon Kotsu to oversee the management and servicing of Waymo&#8217;s vehicles. Drivers of the taxi company will initially operate the vehicles manually to map areas including Minato, Shinjuku, Shibuya, Chiyoda, Chūō, Shinagawa, and Kōtō.
The company, however, did not provide a timeline for when it intends to provide autonomous paid rides to members of the public.
Why It Matters: Tokyo is Waymo&#8217;s first step toward international markets. 
&#8220;We are engaging with Japanese policymakers, regulators, and local safety officials to ensure a responsible and seamless implementation of Waymo&#8217;s technology to Tokyo&#8217;s streets,&#8221; the company said in a statement while adding it will take a &#8220;rigorous approach&#8221; to validating its technology&#8217;s safety and performance. 
Waymo is currently providing autonomous paid rides to the public in Phoenix, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.&nbsp;Earlier this month, Waymo said that it is looking to open autonomous rides to&nbsp;<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/tech/24/12/42360297/waymo-eyes-expansion-of-autonomous-rides-to-users-in-miami-by-2026" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">people in Miami, Florida, as well in 2026.</a>
Last week, General Motors said that it would <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/trading-ideas/movers/24/12/42425386/general-motors-stock-is-rising-after-the-bell-whats-driving-the-action" target="_blank" rel="noopener">no longer fund</a> Cruise‘s robotaxi development but would instead combine the majority-owned unit with its technical teams. The robotaxi development work needs considerable time and resources to scale, GM reasoned, while adding that the robotaxi market is getting increasingly competitive.
Cruise, until late last year, was a major robotaxi player in the U.S. in the leagues of&nbsp;Waymo.

XRP (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/xrp/usd">XRP</a>) became the best-performing large-cap cryptocurrency Monday following the launch of Ripple Labs' USD-backed stablecoin RLUSD.
What happened: The payments-focused cryptocurrency rose 3.51% in the last 24 hours, outpacing the returns of Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) and Ethereum (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/eth/usd">ETH</a>).
With the latest push, XRP's monthly gains zoomed to 138%, the biggest among cryptocurrencies in the top 10 by market capitalization.
The rally was likely powered by significant buying interest from whale investors. Noted cryptocurrency analyst Ali Martinez highlighted that whales purchased over 830 million XRP, worth over $2 billion at prevailing market prices.

Moreover. XRP's Open Interest, a measure of its speculative interest, rose 5.26% in the last 24 hours and nearly 450% since Nov. 5, the presidential election day, data from Coinglass revealed.
About 75% of all Binance traders with an open interest were positioned long on the asset, signaling the expectation of further upsides.

ChatGPT Search Goes Free: OpenAI Challenges Google's Unbroken Search Dominance

U.S. auto safety regulator National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on Monday that it has finalized a rule requiring new passenger vehicles to sound a warning if rear-seat passengers do not <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/09/40706822/nhtsa-closes-probe-into-1-3m-gm-vehicles-over-seat-belt-safety-concerns">use a seat belt</a> starting in Sept. 2027.
What Happened: The rule also requires enhanced warnings if front seat belts aren&#8217;t fastened, the agency said, while adding that it expects the new rule to prevent over 500 injuries and save about 50 lives per year once fully implemented. The new rule applies to passenger cars, trucks, buses, and multipurpose passenger vehicles weighing up to 10,000 pounds. 
Previously, the rule mandated a seat belt warning only for the driver&#8217;s seat. 
However, now, manufacturers need to issue enhanced seat belt warnings if front seat passengers are not strapped in starting from Sept. 1, 2026, and rear seat&nbsp;belt warnings starting Sept. 1, 2027.
Why It Matters: "While seat belt use has improved for decades, there's still more we can do to make sure everyone buckles up. These new requirements will help to increase seat belt use, especially for rear seat passengers, by enhancing reminders for vehicle occupants to buckle up,"&nbsp;NHTSA Chief Counsel Adam Raviv said. Passengers sitting in the front seats are more likely to don a seat belt than those in the rear seats, according to NHTSA. 
Seat belt warning systems use both visual and audible signals to urge passengers to wear seat belts. As <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/government/regulations/24/11/41867551/tesla-faces-nhtsa-scrutiny-over-social-media-promotion-of-fsd-technology-that-shows-disengaged-driver-behavior">per the agency</a>, about half of all passenger vehicle occupants who died in crashes in 2022 were not strapped in.
