With 93% of votes counted, the amendment failed with 55.8% yes votes and 44.2% no votes, according to the Associated Press.

The last Democrat to carry Florida was Barack Obama in 2012, but since then, the state has solidified its shift toward the GOP in statewide elections.
The rejection of the abortion rights measure marks Florida as the first state where such a proposal has failed since the overturning of Roe v. Wade in 2022. The initiative sought to prevent lawmakers from imposing abortion restrictions before viability or when necessary to protect the health of the patient.

In Wisconsin, with 32% of the votes counted, Harris is narrowly leading Trump with 49.7% to his 48.8%.
