<p>President <strong>Donald Trump</strong> announced over the weekend that tariffs on steel and aluminum imports will be doubled to 50% starting June 4, reigniting trade tensions with China. Beijing responded by accusing Washington of seriously violating trade agreements and pledged to take strong measures to defend its interests.</p>
<p>The renewed dispute ignited a rally in precious and industrial metals. Aluminium prices climbed 2.5%, copper gained 3%, and silver soared 4.6%, marking its best daily performance since September 2024. Gold also caught a bid, rising 2.8% to $3,327 per ounce, its highest level since May 8, as investors sought safe-haven protection.</p>
<p>Russia's war with Ukraine escalated over the weekend, with Ukrainian drones striking airfields deep inside eastern Siberia. Moscow responded with one of its largest missile and drone barrages yet.</p>
<p>The geopolitical flare-up sent oil prices up 3.5% to $64 a barrel, shrugging off OPEC+'s announcement of a 411,000 barrels-per-day production hike starting in July.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, U.S. natural gas prices spiked 7% as traders priced in a potential increase in LNG demand from Europe.</p>
<p>On the macro front, the Institute for Supply Management's Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) revealed a deeper-than-expected contraction in May. Price pressures remained elevated, hovering near their highest<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/economic-data/25/06/45724821/trumps-manufacturing-narrative-weakens-as-may-data-shows-sharper-contraction-stubborn-inflation"> levels in three years.</a></p>
<p>Selling pressure resumed in the Treasury market, with the yield on the 30-year U.S. bond rising 6 basis points to 4.98%. </p>
<p>The <strong>iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF</strong> (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TLT#NASDAQ">TLT</a>) dropped 1.5%, reflecting losses in long-duration bonds. At the same time, the U.S. dollar softened, with the dollar index falling to 98.7, its lowest in over a week.</p>
<p><strong>Bitcoin</strong> (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) fell 1.3% to $104,000, continuing its pullback from recent highs. </p>

<p><strong>Modine Manufacturing Co.</strong> (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MOD#NYSE">MOD</a>) announced Friday that it will <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/05/n45690381/modine-to-acquire-l-b-white-gaining-market-leading-heating-technologies-line" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">acquire L.B. White</a> in a deal valued at approximately $112 million. The move aims to expand Modine&#8217;s HVAC portfolio with specialized heating solutions for agriculture, construction and event markets.</p>
<p><strong>L.B. White</strong>, headquartered in Wisconsin, is known for its direct-fired, radiant and electric heating systems. It holds a leading position in North America&#8217;s swine and poultry markets and has additional operations in Georgia.</p>
<p>The acquisition supports the company&#8217;s strategy to grow its presence in adjacent sectors with high-performance, engineered products.</p>
<p>Modine CEO <strong>Neil D. Brinker</strong> said the deal strengthens the company&#8217;s ability to address a broader range of climate control needs. President of Climate Solutions, <strong>Eric McGinnis</strong>, added that the product lines complement Modine&#8217;s existing offerings and open new sales opportunities.</p>

<p><strong>블랙록</strong>(NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BLK#NYSE">BLK</a>)의 iShares가 제공하는 업계 ETF 목록에 따르면 25개 산업 중 5개 산업만이 4월에 상승세를 기록했다. 그중 광업주들은 은, 구리, 금 광산주가 강력한 상승세를 보이는 등 전반적으로 좋은 성적을 거두었다.</p>
<p>4월에 광업 산업의 개수의 존재의 의미있는 기여자들은 <strong>팬 아메리칸 실버</strong> (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/PAAS#NYSE">PAAS</a>)가 20% 이상 상승, <b>뉴몬트</b>(NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NEM#NYSE">NEM</a>)이 14% 상승, <b>앵글로 아메리칸</b>(OTCPK:AAUKF)이 40% 이상 상승 등이었다.</p>
<p>에너지 생산업체들도 상승 마감할 수 있었다.</p>
<p>업계 순위에서 가장 낮은 부분에 있는 주택 건설업체, 운송, 생명공학 주식, 디지털 인프라 및 부동산은 모두 4월에 7%에서 9.6% 사이의 손실을 보고했습니다.</p>
