Ahead of the NBA Finals matchup of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Indiana Pacers, Jay-Z <a href="https://x.com/FanaticsBook/status/1930738995199455736">bet </a>$1 million on the Thunder winning in five games for the best-of-seven game series.
The Thunder were heavy favorites to win the series and many had them winning in four games or five games, but the Pacers had other plans.
The Pacers won games 1 and 3, with a 116-107 win Wednesday night in game 3, and now lead the series 2-1. This means the best the Thunder can do is win the series in six games if they win three straight games. The Pacers can close out the series in five games with two more wins or win the series in six or seven games.

Instead, the studios argued, Midjourney continued to release improved versions of its service, resulting in higher-quality infringing images. The lawsuit was filed by seven corporate entities representing the Disney and Universal film units that owned or managed the copyrights for these characters.
Disney and Universal are seeking a preliminary injunction to block Midjourney from copying their works or offering its image and video generation services without protections against copyright infringement. The studios are also pursuing unspecified damages.

Wall Street's Most Accurate Analysts Spotlight On 3 Tech And Telecom Stocks Delivering High-Dividend Yields

Earlier this year, struggling sports streaming specialist FuboTV (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/FUBO#NYSE">FUBO</a>) <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/01/42816545/fubotv-and-disney-near-merger-to-create-second-largest-digital-tv-provider-shares-soar-report">received a lifeline</a> from entertainment giant and sector rival The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/DIS#NYSE">DIS</a>). Specifically, the deal calls for the combination of Disney's Hulu + Live TV with Fubo, creating a massive content powerhouse. Naturally, the matter has attracted <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/content/44861194/disney-how-the-fubo-sports-deal-became-a-game-changer">regulatory risks</a> in addition to execution concerns, which has subsequently deflated FUBO stock from the initial pop. Still, there's a statistical case for optimism.
In late April, Bloomberg News reported that the U.S. Department of Justice began <a href="https://www.reuters.com/sustainability/doj-probing-disney-fubotv-deal-over-competition-concerns-bloomberg-news-reports-2025-04-23/">probing</a> Disney's deal to take a controlling stake in Fubo to determine whether it would create an unfair competitive environment in the sports streaming market. Fully clearing this regulatory obstacle will be difficult considering that Disney owns sports network ESPN, while Fubo carries several <a href="https://support.fubo.tv/hc/en-us/articles/115005322088-What-Regional-Sports-Networks-are-available-on-Fubo">regional</a> sports networks.
Beyond the lingering legal shadows, there's also the matter of execution. Fundamentally, the idea is that while Disney has large swathes of the entertainment segment locked up, its sports coverage with ESPN is dragging. By creating synergies with Fubo, it aims to revive ESPN's former relevance. However, this may be easier said than done, helping to explain some recent lackluster trading in FUBO stock.
Last month, Fubo reported <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/25/05/45165703/fubotv-stock-drops-after-q1-subscriber-losses-and-lower-than-expected-outlook">first-quarter earnings</a>, presenting a mixed outcome. On an adjusted basis, the company lost 2 cents per share, beating expectations calling for a loss of 9 cents. However, revenue somewhat disappointed. Although the top-line tally of $405.96 million represented an 8.1% lift on a year-over-year basis, it missed the consensus target of $415.45 million.
Still, the bottom line is that <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/entertainment/23/04/31841724/cutting-the-cord-to-save-money-heres-how-much-streamers-spend-to-watch-netflix-game-of-thro">cord cutting is very much a thing</a> — and all the signs suggest that the trend is irreversible. Disney can't just let its ESPN brand atrophy, which still commands respect in the sports ecosystem. Assuming the deal clears essential hurdles, it could be a positive catalyst for both Disney and Fubo.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Statistical Undercurrent Points Positively For FUBO Stock</h2>
Every four years, the American electorate votes for the president of the U.S. and without fail, roughly half of the nation thinks the other half is out of their minds. Therefore, creating a model predicting election results will likely lead to inaccuracies if said model exclusively incorporates narratives and the interpretation of such. Storylines offer color and context but they're not always great predictors.
Colloquially, it's better to study what people do rather than what they say. The same principle applies to the financial markets, especially for names like FUBO stock, which are incredibly popular with retail traders. One can spend all day analyzing financial statements and conducting industry research — at the end of it, investors as a collective will buy what they want to buy.
As such, it's important to consider market breadth or the sequence of accumulative and distributive sessions. Unlike fundamental metrics such as earnings or technical metrics such as share price, market breadth doesn't drift temporally. The balance of accumulation and distribution is simply the demand profile and the definition of demand doesn't change with time. Earnings and share price? They almost always fluctuate, especially with long passages of time.
In the past two months, FUBO stock printed a "7-3-U" sequence: seven up weeks, three down weeks, with a net positive trajectory across the 10-week period. In 64.29% of cases, the following week's price action results in upside, with a median return of 10.49%.

Last Friday, FUBO stock closed at $3.43. If the implications of the 7-3-U sequence pan out as projected, FUBO would be on track to hit $3.79. Should the bulls maintain control of the market, a push toward the $4 level over the next several weeks would not be out of the question.
What's interesting about FUBO stock is that statistically, it feeds off positive energy. Generally speaking, when the balance of distributive sessions is greater than accumulative over a 10-week period, the security tends to have a negative bias. On the other end, when the balance favors accumulative sessions, FUBO tends to enjoy a positive bias.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Huge Payouts For The Aggressive Trader</h2>
Those who want to take a shot at this high-risk, high-reward idea may consider the 3/4 bull call spread expiring July 18. This transaction involves buying the $3 call and simultaneously selling the $4 call, for a net debit paid of $34. If FUBO stock rises through the short strike price of $4 at expiration, the maximum reward is $66, a payout of over 194%.
Clearly, market makers hold a dim view of the idea that FUBO stock could rise to $4; hence, the huge payout. Still, based on prior responses to the 7-3-U pattern, speculators have an empirical case. Moreover, from a pure numbers perspective, gamblers are incentivized to consider taking a wager.
As a baseline, the chance that FUBO stock will rise on any given week is only 46.06%. On balance, the security tends to have a negative bias. However, the current sentiment regime has shifted the probability spectrum so that bullish speculators have favorable odds.
By no means is this a guarantee. But by the numbers, FUBO stock may be more attractive than it looks on paper.

Options Corner: High-Risk FuboTV Offers An Underappreciated Statistical Edge

Walt Disney Co. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/DIS#NYSE">DIS</a>) shares are trading higher Tuesday after the company announced it will pay Comcast $438.7 million to acquire the company&#8217;s <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/entertainment/25/06/45853877/disney-will-pay-comcast-439-million-to-seal-hulu-deal-ending-years-long-streaming-power-struggle">33% stake in Hulu</a>.
What To Know: Disney will take full control of streaming service Hulu, ending a multi-year valuation dispute. Disney acquired majority control of Hulu through its 2019 deal with Fox Corp. In 2023, the company announced plans to buy the remaining 33% from Comcast.
Disney said in a regulatory filing that the two companies agreed to an initial minimum price of $8.6 billion, which Disney paid for Comcast's stake in 2023. The companies then entered into an appraisal process to determine the final price, but differing views on Hulu's valuation led to a drawn-out appraisal process. 
&#8220;During the initial phase of the appraisal process, Disney's appraiser arrived at a valuation below the guaranteed floor value, while NBCU's appraiser arrived at a valuation substantially in excess of the guaranteed floor value,&#8221; Disney said in the filing.
The final equity value, which was completed on June 9, took into account a valuation from a third appraiser. Disney said that if the valuation had been consistent with the Comcast appraiser&#8217;s value, Disney would have owed an additional $5 billion. Instead, it was determined that Disney owed approximately $439 million, which is being viewed as a win for the entertainment giant. 
"We are pleased this is finally resolved. We have had a productive partnership with NBCUniversal, and we wish them the best of luck. Completing the Hulu acquisition paves the way for a deeper and more seamless integration of Hulu's general entertainment content with Disney+ and, soon, with ESPN's direct-to-consumer product, providing an unrivaled value proposition for consumers,&#8221; said Bob Iger, CEO of Disney.
The acquisition of the remaining 33% stake in Hulu is expected to close by July 24, giving Disney full control of Hulu's operations and content. Hulu has about 54.7 million subscribers, according to Disney&#8217;s latest <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/equities/25/05/45276805/disneys-30-billion-theme-park-bet-pays-off-as-bob-iger-touts-all-time-high-returns-stock-rallies-10-after-q2-earnings">earnings report</a>. 
Loop Capital analyst Alan Gould maintained Disney with a Buy rating on Tuesday and raised the price target from $125 to $130.

On November 1, 2023, a subsidiary of NBC Universal (collectively with its subsidiaries, "NBCU") provided notice to a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company (collectively with its subsidiaries, "Disney") of its exercise of its right under a put/call arrangement to require Disney to purchase NBCU's 33% interest in Hulu, LLC ("Hulu") at a value based on NBCU's equity ownership percentage of the greater of Hulu's equity fair value, determined pursuant to a contractual appraisal process, or a guaranteed floor value of $27.5 billion (the "guaranteed floor value"). In December 2023, Disney paid NBCU approximately $8.6 billion, which reflected the guaranteed floor value less NBCU's unpaid capital call contributions.
During the initial phase of the appraisal process, Disney's appraiser arrived at a valuation below the guaranteed floor value, while NBCU's appraiser arrived at a valuation substantially in excess of the guaranteed floor value. The final equity fair value, which was completed on June 9, 2025, takes into account the valuation of a third appraiser, which if it had been equal to or below the guaranteed floor value would have resulted in no additional amount payable to NBCU and if it had been consistent with the NBCU's appraiser's valuation would have resulted in an additional amount of approximately $5 billion payable to NBCU as its share of the difference between the equity fair value and the guaranteed floor value.

Tariffs could also hit the Big Three automakers hard, although Ford has more domestic production than competitors like GM. With a Price-to-Earnings ratio under nine and a dividend yield over 7%, the stock is attractive to value investors, but it&#8217;s hard to get overly bullish on a stock facing so many potential headwinds. Ford is currently trading near the lower bound of its range, which means less premium collected on the call option, but also a slimmer chance of the stock reaching the strike price (which should be set around the $15 resistance level). 
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Colgate-Palmolive Co. </h2>
Consumer staples companies like Colgate-Palmolive (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/CL#NYSE">CL</a>) make decent covered call candidates since they often have thin margins, steady demand, and low beta stocks. In other words, they don&#8217;t move much. However, CL shares make a different type of candidate as the stock's range has been narrowing in a wedge pattern, which could signal a consolidation of capital preparing to alter the current trend.

Despite revenue expansion, Disney+ subscriber growth is actually starting to decline, and the company continues to struggle to find direction for sports properties like ESPN. The stock hasn't traded above $123 per share since August 2022, and the current market price is right at the resistance level of the range. Despite gains of more than 20% this month, Disney could be tapped out, making it ideal for a covered call if you own it.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Allstate Corp. </h2>
Allstate (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/ALL#NYSE">ALL</a>) reached a new all-time high as recently as March, and placing a resistance trendline at an all-time high can be risky when trading. But this is the third time ALL shares have approached this level; the first two attempts failed to continue the momentum. The more attempts a stock makes to break a resistance level, the stronger that level becomes. A third failure could be bad news for shareholders.

I think it's going higher.&#8221;
Disney is reportedly cutting hundreds of roles. According to <a href="https://variety.com/2025/tv/news/disney-mass-layoffs-tv-film-finance-departments-1236415786/">Variety</a>, the cuts span multiple departments, including film and television marketing, publicity, casting, development, and corporate finance.

Lending support to his choice, Scotiabank analyst Brandon Bingham, on June 5, raised the price target on the stock from $26 to $27.
