(NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/PSMT#NASDAQ">PSMT</a>) rose nearly 6% <a href="https://benzinga.grsm.io/register174">in premarket trading </a>in reaction to its quarterly results, while WD-40 Company (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/WDFC#NASDAQ">WDFC</a>) climbed nearly 12.50%.</li>
<li>Delta Air Lines, Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/DAL#NYSE">DAL</a>) and PepsiCo. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/PEP#NYSE">PEP</a>) reported q<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/calendars/earnings">uarterly results ahead of the market open</a>, with the former falling over 6% after an earnings miss and weak third-quarter forecast, while the latter fell over 1.50% as second-quarter sales came in just shy of estimates of some analysts.</li>
<li>Tesla, Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) fell 0.61% following its 11-session winning streak, while its mega-cap peer Nvidia Corp. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVDA#NASDAQ">NVDA</a>) continued to grind higher.</li>
</ul>
Commodities, Bonds And Global Equity Markets:
Crude oil futures climbed for a second straight session and traded around the $82.50-a-barrel level and gold futures also traded in the green as they approached the $2,400 mark.
The 10-year Treasury note yield, which edged down on Wednesday, was modestly lower at 4.273%.
Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) edged down but has climbed past the $58K level after settling Wednesday&#8217;s session at around $57.7K.
Among equity markets, Asia followed Wall Street&#8217;s lead and closed notably higher, with the Hong Kong and Chinese markets recording standout gains. Japan&#8217;s Nikkei 224 average ended at a record high. Some positive regional data also added to the buoyancy. The Indian market bucked the trend and settled marginally lower.
In Europe, stocks started on a firm note after German inflation data came in line with expectations and the U.K. GDP rose strongly in the second quarter.

U.S. stocks closed Tuesday&#8217;s session on a mixed note as traders took stock of Powell&#8217;s rhetoric about inflation. Mega-cap stocks Nvidia Corp. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVDA#NASDAQ">NVDA</a>) and Tesla, Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) came to the market&#8217;s rescue helping to overcome the fatigue that set in following the market&#8217;s record run. Some defensive sectors such as healthcare, real estate and utility stocks gained ground, and financial stocks rose solidly.
After a positive open, the Nasdaq Composite and the S&amp;P 500 indices stayed mostly higher, although closing sharply off their early highs. Yet, these two averages set new intraday and closing records during the session. The underperformance of the Dow Jones Industrial Average continued as it languished in negative terrain but for some mid-session strength.

The stock market could face difficulty sustaining the upward momentum seen in the first half of the year, said LPL Financial analysts in the firm&#8217;s mid-year outlook. The first-half outperformance, the firm said, is driven by anticipation of looser Fed policy and robust corporate earnings growth. &#8220;However, elevated valuations and potential volatility, especially with the upcoming U.S. presidential election, suggest a more cautious approach moving forward.&#8221; 
Mark Newton, Global Head of Technical Strategy at Fundstrat, said the financial sector is worth keeping an eye on as it has been coming back to life. The strategist said the divergence between the large-cap tech and broader market and the economic weakness has been used as an excuse to bet on a market correction and/or underperformance. &#8220;There&#8217;s no saying that Tech HAS to peak out while others still languish,&#8221; he added.
&#8220;There&#8217;s obviously that &#8220;other&#8221; scenario, where the broader market comes back to life as rates fall.&#8221;

Nasdaq, S&P 500 Futures Rise Amid Tech Buoyancy, Bitcoin Gains 2%: Analyst Warns Of Elevated Valuations And Potential Election Volatility

The CNN Money Fear and Greed index remained in the &#8220;Neutral&#8221; zone on Tuesday.
U.S. stocks closed mixed on Tuesday, with the S&amp;P 500 hitting fresh record as Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell issued positive comments on the economy and the job market during his semiannual testimony before the Senate Banking Committee.
Data on consumer price index for June will be released on Thursday, while producer price index data will be released on Friday.
NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVDA#NASDAQ">NVDA</a>) shares gained 2.5% on Tuesday as Keybanc analyst John Vinh maintained the stock with an Overweight rating and boosted the price target from $130 to $180.
Most sectors on the S&amp;P 500 closed on a positive note, with financials, health care and utilities stocks recording the biggest gains on Tuesday. However, energy and materials stocks bucked the overall market trend, closing the session lower.
The Dow Jones closed lower by around 53 points to 39,291.97 on Tuesday. The S&amp;P 500 rose 0.07% at 5,576.98, while the Nasdaq Composite climbed 0.14% at 18,429.29 during Tuesday's session.

Despite concerns over higher prices, a brighter economic outlook is driving spending in Q4. Moreover, the rise of supercenters, supermarkets, and hypermarkets, combined with adjusted buying habits and early promotions, aligns with the current economic environment, sustaining momentum in key retail categories. As a result, the National Retail Federation forecasts a <a href="https://nrf.com/media-center/press-releases/nrf-forecasts-retail-sales-reach-least-523-trillion-2024">2.5% to 3.5% increase</a> in 2024 retail sales, reaching $5.23 to $5.28 trillion, making the retail sector a promising investment opportunity.

WMT engages in the operation of retail, wholesale, and other units worldwide. The company operates through three segments: Walmart U.S., Walmart International, and Sam's Club.
