This payment, combined with payments previously received, results in total cash proceeds of $530 million on the $300 million investment that was made in September 2022. The company generated an attractive return by monetizing these future fixed payments at a low discount rate of 5.35% and will redeploy these proceeds into higher returning investment opportunities, including repurchasing its shares and acquiring attractive new royalties.

As the rollout of Bristol Myers Squibb Co&#8217;s (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BMY#NYSE">BMY</a>) Camzyos mavacamten continues, some concerns remain about its potential in treating obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (oHCM).
While the initial launch is not seen as a negative sign for mavacamten&#8217;s potential, its Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) is a barrier to fully unlocking the market.
Cytokinetics appears well-positioned to capitalize on Bristol Myers&#8217; groundwork with its second-to-market drug, aficamten, which is expected to have a best-in-class profile. There is a strong case for aficamten to secure a differentiated REMS, potentially including six-month echocardiograms (Q6M echos) as a standard.
Under conservative assumptions, aficamten could drive the U.S. oHCM market to approximately $3 billion.

Royalty Pharma board of directors has declared a dividend for the first quarter of 2025 of $0.22 per Class A ordinary share, reflecting a 5% increase in the company's quarterly dividend over the previous quarter's dividend.
The dividend will be paid on March 10, 2025 to shareholders of record at the close of business on February 21, 2025.

On CNBC's &#8220;Mad Money Lightning Round,&#8221; Jim Cramer said he likes Walmart Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/WMT#NYSE">WMT</a>).
According to a CNBC report, Walmart started providing body cameras to some of its store-level employees across the U.S. as part of a pilot<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/psychology/24/12/42537321/walmart-begins-program-that-has-employees-wear-bodycams-for-safety"> program testing the technology</a>.
Royalty Pharma plc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/RPRX#NASDAQ">RPRX</a>) is a &#8220;disappointing&#8221; stock, Cramer said. &#8220;I want you to stick with it, I would not get rid of the stock here, it's too good a company.&#8221;
On Nov. 6, Royalty Pharma reported quarterly earnings of $1.04 per share which beat the analyst consensus estimate of 93 cents per share. The company reported quarterly sales of $565.00 million which missed the analyst consensus estimate of $696.10 million.
Cramer said he doesn't want to own Magna International Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MGA#NYSE">MGA</a>). &#8220;The autos are the worst place to be,&#8221; he noted.
On Dec. 16, Wells Fargo analyst Colin Langan maintained Magna International with an Equal-Weight rating and lowered the price target from $46 to $44.
The &#8220;Mad Money&#8221; host recommended buying M&amp;T Bank Corporation (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MTB#NYSE">MTB</a>), adding that it is a &#8220;very, very good&#8221; company.
M&amp;T Bank will announce its fourth quarter and full-year 2024 earnings results before the market opens on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2025. Analysts expect the company to report quarterly earnings at $3.74 per share on revenue of $2.34 billion.

On Aug. 14, Core Scientific announced that it increased its offering of convertible senior notes from $350 million to $400 million. The company has also given initial purchasers the option to buy up to an extra $60 million in notes.
